British defense officials have criticized the “dangerous” actions of Russian warplane crews, who flew dangerously close to a UK spy aircraft protecting NATO territory from potential threats. The British “Rivet Joint” plane, worth £310 million, was conducting a routine patrol above the Black Sea when it was closely approached by two Russian supersonic fighter jets.
Both the Su-35 and Su-27 jets flew within meters of the British spy plane, causing the autopilot to malfunction and emergency alarms to sound.
