A 21-year-old social media influencer, known as Robertinha, was fatally shot in Coelho Neto, Maranhao, Brazil. The incident occurred on May 15 when two suspects on a motorcycle opened fire on her, causing fatal injuries despite her attempts to escape. This tragedy follows the murder of her partner, Fernando Rocha Alves, in February 2023, where both were attacked by armed individuals. Francisca survived that attack but sustained injuries. After relocating to Nova Mutum, Mato Grosso, she returned to Coelho Neto two days before her untimely death, accompanied by her sister and a friend.

The authorities, specifically the Coelho Neto Police Station, are actively investigating the case to determine if there is a connection between this killing and gang-related activities or the previous murder of Fernando. No suspects have been apprehended yet in connection with the incident.

With a social media following of around 11,400, which surged to 12,900 after news of her demise spread, Francisca shared various content including comedy sketches, glimpses of her daily life, and posts featuring her mother.

In 2025, Brazil reported a national homicide rate of 16 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants, showcasing a decline from previous years. The Ministry of Justice and Public Security disclosed that there were 34,086 homicides in 2025, a decrease from 38,374 in 2024, marking the fifth consecutive year of reduced murder rates in the country.
