A man has been sentenced to prison for stalking and fraud after he developed an unusual fixation on an accountant due to her LinkedIn posts being perceived as condescending. Christian Jennings, 63, became infatuated with Jeri Williams, a popular figure on the professional networking platform with 92,000 followers. This obsession arose while Jennings was on bail following his 2023 arrest for embezzling £150k from an NHS facility where he worked as a manager in Camberwell, southeast London.

Jennings sent Ms. Williams six anonymous letters between January and August 2025, containing detailed personal and professional information. The letters were described as menacing, with one calling her a “total tramp” and another featuring a dartboard with a message stating, “You are marked, darling.” Additionally, one letter included a photo of Ms. Williams’ puppy with a warning about potential harm to the pet.

Ms. Williams reported the incidents to the police, leading to Jennings being identified as the suspect. Although she had no prior knowledge of him, she later discovered past messages and comments from Jennings dating back to 2020. The harassment took a toll on her emotionally and financially, prompting her to relocate her business out of fear for her safety and that of her family.

Jennings’ criminal behavior extended beyond stalking, as he was found guilty of defrauding the Camberwell Green Surgery over a six-year period by falsifying invoices and redirecting payments to his account. The fraud was uncovered after his departure in 2019 when suspicious transactions were noted by the new practice manager, leading to an audit that exposed his theft of £151,841.

During his court proceedings, Jennings expressed remorse for his actions and has initiated a repayment plan, returning £32,000 to the surgery and planning to sell assets to settle the remaining debt. His defense cited financial pressures, including significant child maintenance payments and credit card debts, as factors driving him to commit fraud. The judge emphasized Jennings’ breach of trust in his managerial role and noted his prior criminal history spanning two decades.

The judge handed Jennings a sentence of two years and four months for both the fraud and stalking offenses. He was also instructed to repay the outstanding £120,000 within the next 12 months, highlighting the severity of his actions and the impact on his victim.
