Police have blocked off a section of Seel Street in Liverpool’s bustling city center as armed officers responded to an urgent situation. The scene featured multiple police vehicles, matrix vans, and two fire engines, with heavily armed Merseyside police officers present.
Merseyside Police reported their presence on Seel Street to locate a missing individual. Ropewalks hotel confirmed that an incident had been resolved safely, involving a guest welfare concern. The hotel expressed gratitude to the emergency services for their assistance.
The police presence at Seel Street has lessened, with reports indicating the removal of cordons after officers entered the hotel. Riot police were observed using an extendable ladder to peer through a window on Seel Street, with additional support from Merseyside Fire and Rescue, the police dog unit, and ambulance services.
Reports suggested that a man remained inside a hotel room on Seel Street, leading to a standstill in the area. Riot police, equipped with assault rifles and ballistic shields, were seen attempting to communicate with the man inside the room.
