Two individuals have admitted to a religiously aggravated public order offense after traveling to a predominantly Jewish neighborhood to create antisemitic content for TikTok. The incident occurred on Clapton Common, where they verbally harassed a Jewish man and filmed the interaction on Thursday evening, prompting a hate crime report.
Upon police intervention, the men attempted to flee but were apprehended on-site. The Metropolitan Police arrested a total of five suspects, including two 20-year-olds and a 21-year-old who have been released on bail pending further investigation.
Adam Bedoui, 20, from Park Lodge Avenue, Hillingdon, and Abdelkader Bousloub, 21, from Merrivale Mews, Hillingdon, appeared in court and pleaded guilty to the religiously aggravated public order offense. Detective Superintendent Oliver Richter condemned the incident as a targeted antisemitic attack fueled by the perpetrators’ intent to incite hatred through social media.
Richter emphasized the swift police action leading to the suspects’ conviction within 48 hours, underscoring a zero-tolerance approach to hate crimes. The police are committed to addressing such incidents seriously due to the harm they cause to communities.
Both offenders will face sentencing at Thames Magistrates’ Court on June 5. The Metropolitan Police highlighted their recent establishment of a dedicated Community Protection Team to combat antisemitic hate crimes, with approximately 50 arrests made in the past month, resulting in 10 individuals being charged.
