Former Big Brother contestant Alex Sibley has successfully won a seat as a Reform councillor in the recent local elections. Making a transition from reality TV stardom, he emerged victorious in a London constituency earlier today.

Running under the Reform party banner, Sibley clinched the Emerson Park position in Havering, east London, garnering 1,255 votes, just shy of fellow Reform candidate David Johnson with 1,306 votes.

Initially gaining fame on the third season of Big Brother in 2002, the 47-year-old has undergone significant changes over the past 24 years and now aligns closely with Nigel Farage’s views.

Sharing a photo alongside his running mate David Johnson, both adorned in blue election rosettes, Sibley confirmed their candidacy for Emerson Park in Havering under Reform UK on May 7, 2026.

Facing competition from candidates representing the Greens, Labour, and the Conservative party, Sibley’s campaign culminated in a successful election outcome.

Nigel Farage expressed his satisfaction with the performance of his party in the local elections in Havering, stating that it marks a significant shift in British politics, positioning Reform UK as a prominent national party.

Following his time in the public eye after Big Brother, Sibley’s life took unexpected turns, culminating in a car incident in 2004, which was later dropped in 2006 due to insufficient evidence. He subsequently transitioned to working in affordable housing, acknowledging the impact of the car accident on his television career in 2020.

Despite the challenges, Sibley expressed interest in returning to the entertainment industry, aiming to participate in shows like I’m A Celebrity. His notable experiences on Big Brother and subsequent television contracts have shaped his career trajectory.

One memorable incident from Sibley’s time on Big Brother was his clash with fellow contestant Alison Hammond. Their interactions sparked controversy within the house, leading to tensions and eventual eviction for Hammond.

Reflecting on their time together, Hammond criticized Sibley’s behavior, highlighting his overly meticulous tendencies and expressing relief at his departure from the house.
