Arsenal enthusiasts are encountering significant expenses to journey to the upcoming Champions League final in Budapest. Direct flights from London to the Hungarian capital are currently priced at over £1,100 for a round trip for fans wanting to travel the day before and after the match, doubling in price compared to just hours before Arsenal’s recent victory over Atlético Madrid.

Accommodations in Budapest near the Puskas Arena, where Mikel Arteta’s team will face the winner of the Bayern Munich versus Paris St-Germain semi-final, are being offered at more than £1,000 per night, up to four times higher than usual rates. The cheapest three-star hotel room available on Booking.com for the final’s Friday and Saturday nights was reportedly £1,426, with five-star hotel rooms starting at £11,879.

Additionally, match tickets, ranging from £60 to £820 for category 1 passes, will be on sale soon, with restricted view tickets priced at £656 for Arsenal fans allocated only 16,824 tickets in the 67,215 capacity stadium.

Many fans have expressed dismay at the exorbitant costs associated with attending the final on May 30. Some have resorted to considering alternative travel routes, such as flying via other countries like Slovakia to save expenses. Others are contemplating taking the train from London, a journey that spans through France, Germany, and Austria, with connections to Budapest from Vienna and Bratislava.

Arsenal is making arrangements to charter a flight for supporters from London Luton Airport to Budapest for £859. The outbound flight is scheduled for early Saturday morning, May 30, with a return following the match’s conclusion. The club is also organizing a screening of the final at the Emirates stadium.

Arsenal announced ticket details and assured fans that they are working to facilitate attendance for as many supporters as possible. Ticket categories will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis via the UEFA Ticket Portal, with some seating options having restricted views due to safety features. Special arrangements are in place for Disability Access Members and minors attending the match with adult supervision.
