Two flight attendants were apprehended due to concerns about their suitability for performing their duties, as per law enforcement officials.

The incident took place at Manchester Airport on the afternoon of May 2, when police responded to Gate 49 following a report from the flight’s captain regarding the attendants.

Both cabin crew members were detained after initial breathalyser tests showed alcohol levels above the permitted threshold for aviation responsibilities, as per a report by the Manchester Evening News. However, subsequent tests conducted while in custody indicated they were within the legal limit, leading to their release without any charges.

A spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Police stated that the authorities were called to Manchester Airport on May 2, 2026, regarding concerns about the fitness of two cabin crew members for their job roles.

The statement from the police representative mentioned that despite the initial high readings on the breath tests, the subsequent tests conducted while in custody confirmed that the individuals were within the acceptable limits. The spokesperson also mentioned that any further actions regarding this matter would be determined by the airline.
