Prince Archie, the son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, made a significant stride in his royal journey as he approaches his seventh birthday. Despite his parents stepping back from their royal duties when he was an infant, Archie has already embarked on a royal tour to South Africa at a tender age, where he had the privilege of meeting Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
In contrast, his older cousin Prince Louis, who is eight years old, is yet to experience a royal tour. This delay is mainly attributed to travel restrictions imposed during the global pandemic, as well as his mother Kate’s health challenges. Prince George and Princess Charlotte, Archie’s older siblings, embarked on their first overseas tours at younger ages compared to Louis.
Archie’s sister Princess Lilibet, who will turn five next month, has not attended any royal events due to being born in the United States. She has only met her grandfather, the King, on one occasion. Despite being born into the royal family, Archie has been shielded from public exposure, with his face carefully concealed by his mother Meghan on her Instagram account since she launched her business, As Ever.
Archie entered the world on May 6, 2019, at the private Portland Hospital in London bearing the name Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. He gained his princely status following the passing of his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. As the sixth in line to the throne, Archie relocated to the United States at the age of 10 months after his parents relinquished their senior royal roles for a new life in California.
On his sixth birthday last year, Meghan commemorated the occasion with an Instagram post celebrating Archie, expressing gratitude for the love and support received. The family-oriented post featured a photo of Archie gazing at a picturesque sunset, accompanied by heartfelt messages from his mother.
