The LIV Golf league is on the verge of losing its financial support from Saudi Arabia, causing uncertainty for over 50 top players. A forthcoming strategic plan will be revealed as efforts to attract new investors begin, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.

The Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia plans to withdraw its funding after the current season ends, leading to the expected resignation of LIV Golf chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan.

The future of the tour is now uncertain, impacting several prominent golfers. Bryson DeChambeau and Phil Mickelson had left the PGA Tour for LIV Golf’s attractive offer, with Jon Rahm later joining them, but now they all face an unpredictable phase in their careers.

Despite previous assurances from LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil about securing funding until the season’s end, the recent developments have raised doubts about the league’s sustainability. O’Neil emphasized the need for ongoing efforts to sustain the business beyond the current season.

Mirror Sport presents a comprehensive list of golfers affected by the funding withdrawal.
