Headteacher Murdered in Tragic Crash, Suspect Charged

A man faces murder charges following the tragic death of a headteacher. Cyclist Michael Mullins was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash on Monday in Altrincham. Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that Simon Richardson, 34, has been charged with murder, manslaughter, dangerous driving, failing to stop, and driving without insurance. He is in custody awaiting his court appearance. Mr. Mullins, 56, was the headteacher of Stretford Grammar School for 17 years and was described in heartfelt tributes as a beloved family member. The family has requested privacy during this difficult time. Liz Bater, deputy headteacher at Stretford Grammar, conveyed the sad news to parents and emphasized the community’s support for each other. The school community is determined to continue Mr. Mullins’ legacy. Authorities are appealing for information and witnesses to come forward to aid in the investigation.
