Vibrant weather charts reveal that a significant portion of the United Kingdom is set to experience a mini heatwave with temperatures reaching 22C, coinciding with a rare bank holiday weekend.

Over 20 counties are expected to enjoy abundant sunshine, with temperatures peaking at 22C in certain areas. Meteorologists predict a gradual rise in temperatures, culminating in the peak during the upcoming May bank holiday weekend.

Although this week has been relatively dry, temperatures have remained moderate, with Topcliffe in North Yorkshire recording 15C and Durham only reaching 11C. However, a shift is anticipated, with most regions of the country set to experience mini heatwave conditions at the beginning of next month.

Weather maps from WXCHARTS, generated on April 23 using data from Met Desk, indicate a change in colors to yellow and orange, signaling potential temperatures exceeding 20C in numerous areas. The onset of the warm spell is projected for midday on Sunday, May 3, with the highest temperatures concentrated in Southeast England, particularly in Greater London, Kent, and Surrey.

Southern England is forecasted to see highs of 20C, while the Midlands, Yorkshire, and the Humber are expected to reach 19C. Extensive regions of Southwest England, such as Bath, Somerset, and Bristol, could experience temperatures up to 18C, as indicated on the maps.

By 6pm on May 3, temperatures are predicted to rise further, with London set to enjoy sunny conditions and highs of 22C, while Surrey could see temperatures of 21C, according to reports from the Express.

Essex and Kent residents might experience pleasant temperatures around 20C, with Wiltshire, Berkshire, Bristol, Gloucester, and Hampshire expected to range between 19C and 20C. The Midlands could also benefit from mild weather, with temperatures around 20C, and even parts of West Yorkshire may see sunny intervals, with Leeds reaching highs of 20C. However, northern England might see temperatures peaking at only 14C, while Scotland could experience lows of 10C as per the maps.

In Wales, southern areas are likely to have the mildest conditions with temperatures of 18C, while west Wales may reach only 13C, according to the maps.

Looking ahead to 6pm on May 4, pleasant conditions are expected to persist for many across the nation. Bank holiday Monday in the southwest could see temperatures hitting 20C, while the Midlands are forecasted to hover around 19C based on the maps.

However, Scotland is projected to only reach 4C, and Wales may see temperatures settling around 13C, according to the maps. Additionally, the Met Office’s long-range forecast from April 28 to May 7 indicates a continuation of dry conditions with above-normal temperatures for most areas.
