Amanda Knox shared her post-acquittal experiences and emotions during a public event discussing her life after the tragic death of Meredith Kercher. The event, organized by the London Innocence Project and attended by around 50 people in south east London, saw Knox express her lingering feelings of anger and sorrow over the ordeal she went through.

Reflecting on the false accusations related to Meredith Kercher’s death, Knox described feeling haunted by the experience. She mentioned her recent visit to Chester for a podcast about Lucy Letby, the nurse convicted of killing seven infants. The audience, anticipating a screening of the documentary “Mouth of the Wolf” directed by her husband Christopher Robinson, was disappointed when the showing was canceled due to licensing issues.

Recalling her initial incarceration and fears of a lengthy prison term, Knox expressed her devastation at the time, revealing her concerns about never having the opportunity to become a mother. She discussed the ongoing struggle to prove her innocence and the emotional toll of constantly being compared to her deceased friend.

Acknowledging the lasting impact of the ordeal on her life, Knox spoke about the persistent scrutiny and negative attention she faces wherever she goes. She mentioned feeling like a target of both the justice system and the media, recalling the challenges of being misrepresented and unfairly judged.

Knox also shared her thoughts on the Italian prosecutor and the flawed case against her, highlighting the lack of motive and the wrongful portrayal of her as inherently evil. Despite the hardships she endured, Knox expressed a sense of moving on from the turmoil, stating that she no longer feels the need to constantly defend herself after nearly two decades.

While supporters view Knox as a victim of a wrongful conviction, critics accuse her of capitalizing on Meredith’s death for personal gain. The Kercher family’s lawyer criticized Knox for repeatedly engaging in media activities related to the case, expressing frustration at what he perceives as exploiting the tragedy for financial benefit.

In 2015, Italy’s Supreme Court of Cassation acquitted Knox of all charges related to Meredith Kercher’s murder. The tragic incident, which took place in 2007, saw Meredith, a popular student from the University of Leeds, brutally killed in her bedroom. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest and conviction of Rudy Guede for his involvement in the crime, while Knox and her then-boyfriend were later acquitted after a lengthy legal battle.
