People participating in the People’s Postcode Lottery are expressing disappointment over the recent increase in ticket prices. The monthly subscription fee has been raised from £12.25 to £12.50, marking the third price hike by the lottery. Previously, the cost was increased from £12 to £12.25 in the previous year and from £10 to £12 in 2023.

Unhappy players have taken to TrustPilot to voice their frustrations regarding the latest price adjustment. One individual questioned, “YET ANOTHER PRICE INCREASE. How much is enough?”

Responding to the complaints, People’s Postcode Lottery stated that the upcoming 25p rise will result in the largest prize pool ever to be won this year. They emphasized that the increase aims to provide more exciting prize opportunities across their draws.

The price adjustment is set to take effect for the April 2026 draw and has already been updated on the lottery’s website. Players are entered into daily, weekly, and monthly draws based on their postcodes, with prizes ranging from daily £1,000 wins for 20 postcodes to larger prizes like £1 million shared among Saturday winners and monthly prizes of £250,000 or more.

The People’s Postcode Lottery, established in 2005, has raised over £1 billion for numerous charities through the participation of millions of players. In a heartwarming recent story, a woman named Gail Wood unexpectedly won £144,000 from the lottery while recovering from major surgery. Gail, a fire control operator, expressed her disbelief and gratitude for the life-changing win, which came at a time when she was unsure of her own survival.
