President Donald Trump has removed Vice President JD Vance from the group engaged in peace negotiations with Iran. Trump has issued a warning, stating that if a peace agreement is not reached, he will take drastic measures against the entire country.
Trump informed The Weekend that Vance will not be present at the talks in Islamabad due to security concerns. The delegation will now be led by Steve Whitkoff and Jared Kushner.
The president revealed to Fox News that the delegation is scheduled to travel to Islamabad for meetings starting on Tuesday, possibly extending into Wednesday.
Trump emphasized that the upcoming negotiations will be Iran’s final opportunity. He stated on the news channel that if Iran does not agree to the deal, he will resort to extreme actions, threatening to destroy the entire country.
This development follows Trump’s recent social media post where he threatened to target all power plants and bridges in Iran. The president accused Iran of breaching a ceasefire agreement after reports of Iranian gun boats firing on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran had previously announced the closure of the vital waterway while the US maintained a blockade on Iranian ports.
In his latest communication, Trump urged Iran to accept a deal during the upcoming peace talks in Islamabad. Failure to do so, he warned, would lead to the destruction of all power plants and bridges in Iran.
Trump’s previous posts also included threats against Iran’s infrastructure, with aggressive language suggesting severe consequences for noncompliance. He emphasized the urgency of reaching a resolution in the ongoing negotiations.
