Police have detained 72 individuals for showing support to Palestine Action during a demonstration where four individuals are facing charges related to an intrusion at an Israeli-affiliated private defense firm.
The break-in, carried out by Samuel Corner, 23, Charlotte Head, 30, Leona Kamio, 30, and Fatema Rajwani, 21, resulted in approximately £1 million in damages to the Elbit Systems UK facility in Bristol on August 6, 2024.
After a retrial last month, the group was convicted of causing criminal damage and potentially faces imprisonment at Woolwich Crown Court, where about 500 people have gathered in solidarity.
The Metropolitan Police have reported the arrest of 72 individuals outside the court for backing Palestine Action, all of whom are currently under police custody.
Palestine Action was labeled as a terrorist group under a Government prohibition order in July of the previous year. However, the High Court ruled the ban invalid in February this year.
