Weather forecasters at the Met Office anticipate a rise in temperatures above 30C later this week, with projections hinting at a potential 37C next week. Although today is expected to be cooler, with highs around 23C, the Met Office predicts temperatures to climb to 31C in southern regions on Sunday and Monday, reaching 28C in the north.

The GFS weather model suggests that temperatures will stay above 30C on Tuesday, possibly peaking at 37C in the south on Wednesday. Southern areas could see temperatures of 35-36C, with even Yorkshire reaching 33C.

The data indicates that the far south-east could experience 37C on Thursday, with East Anglia at 35C, London at 36C, and the Midlands at 34C. Friday might see temperatures of 36C in the south-east, maintaining above 30C across England, leading to yet another official heatwave. Scotland and Northern Ireland are expected to have peak temperatures in the low to mid-20s, while parts of Wales could reach 29-30C.

Next week’s temperature anomaly maps show the UK colored in deep red and orange, indicating temperatures significantly above the seasonal norm. The Met Office forecasts a hot weekend in the south, with Monday remaining warm to hot for most areas.

Towards the latter part of the week, there is a chance of frontal systems or thunderstorms affecting southern and eastern regions. However, temperatures are likely to remain above average, especially in the south, potentially turning very warm or hot.

BBC also predicts notable warmth for the following week, particularly in England and Wales, especially the southern areas. While it may not reach recent highs, temperatures are expected to be above average from early in the week, with some places hitting 30C or more. Parts of Scotland may experience temperatures closer to seasonal norms intermittently.
