Donald Trump reportedly issued a concise caution to King Charles regarding Vladimir Putin, as per a lip reader’s interpretation. The royal couple, King Charles and Queen Camilla, were warmly greeted at the White House during the first day of their four-day state visit to the US amidst strained UK-US relations due to the Iran conflict.

During the reception on the White House’s South Lawn, President Trump seemed to whisper to the King about the Iran conflict and the recent White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting. Lip reader Nicola Hickling revealed that Trump referenced the shooting and his conversations with the Russian president.

Trump mentioned the shooting incident, to which the King expressed a desire not to linger and a feeling of being out of place. Trump then inquired about the King’s well-being and discussed his readiness for the situation at hand. Subsequently, Trump shifted the topic to his communication with Putin, mentioning the Russian president’s desire for conflict.

The King indicated a willingness to discuss the matter later, but Trump continued with alarming statements about Putin’s intentions. The King redirected the conversation, suggesting a different time for further discussion.

On the following day, King Charles is set to deliver a speech to Congress, emphasizing the enduring alliance between the UK and US since America’s independence. This address is expected to acknowledge the existing tensions between Trump and Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

The King will emphasize the importance of defending shared ideals, rule of law, and the democratic traditions that underpin both nations’ prosperity. Additionally, he plans to express solidarity in light of the recent shooting and extend the British people’s friendship to the American populace in honor of the 250th anniversary of American independence.

This occasion marks only the second instance of a British monarch addressing a joint session of Congress, with the first being Queen Elizabeth II in 1991.
