President Donald Trump chose to skip a White House-sponsored faith event in favor of a day of golfing, as per reports. While thousands gathered at the National Mall for an event endorsed by Trump, focusing on the Church’s historical and civic significance in commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary, the president was seen spending the day at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia.
The celebration, known as Freedom 250, was described on its website as a significant gathering where Americans from diverse backgrounds united to prepare for the nation’s 250th birthday through Scripture, testimonials, prayers, and a recommitment of the country to God.
Trump, in a social media post on Truth Social, conveyed his greetings to the attendees of the Rededicate 250 event. He mentioned his availability to assist and signed off with his typical signature, “President DJT.”
Although Trump was expected to make a video appearance at the event, reports indicate that he was mostly occupied at the golf club, arriving just before 1 pm and departing a little after 4:20 pm, based on updates from the White House press pool.
Notably, Trump’s affinity for golfing on Sundays is evident from his track record. According to the tracker Did Trump Golf Today, the president has played golf on 106 out of his first 483 days back in office, constituting around 21.9% of his time in the presidency.
This is not the first time Trump has opted for golf over official events; he previously skipped the Easter Service to tour Washington, D.C., in a motorcade and visit the Trump National Golf Club.
Furthermore, Trump made headlines with a social media post criticizing Iran and invoking Allah on the same day, showcasing his unfiltered rhetoric on various global matters.
