South Wales Police responded to reports of a distressed man on an M4 footbridge near Junction 36, leading to the discovery of a body on a slip road. The incident occurred around 9:30 pm on Saturday. Despite efforts by paramedics from South Wales Ambulance Service to resuscitate the 24-year-old man, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased individual, identified as a resident of Litchard, Bridgend, has been confirmed by his family. They are currently receiving assistance from specialized officers. Following the discovery, the motorway was temporarily closed in both directions to facilitate the emergency response.
According to a representative from South Wales Police, the authorities were alerted to the situation at the M4 footbridge before 9:30 pm on Saturday. The man’s body was found on a nearby slip road. Despite resuscitation attempts by ambulance personnel, the man could not be revived. The closure of the motorway in both directions allowed for police and crime scene investigation teams to respond.
The deceased individual, a 24-year-old from Litchard, Bridgend, was positively identified by his family and is receiving support during this difficult time.
