A 70-year-old woman passed away tragically following a ride on a rollercoaster at a theme park. The woman was discovered unresponsive after the high-speed roller coaster, Revenge of the Mummy, at Universal Orlando in Florida, came to a stop, as revealed in recently released records.

She was swiftly transported to the hospital on November 25 but unfortunately could not be revived. While the cause of her death was not disclosed, the park reported eight other incidents of injuries or medical episodes, including complaints of chest pains, sickness, and back pains between October and December.

The report did not provide details on the specific circumstances of the incident, stating that the information collected was at the time of the occurrence due to privacy concerns and that updates on the patrons’ conditions were not received.

The Revenge of the Mummy ride, known for its top speed of 45 mph, sudden stops, backward motion, and a drop of approximately 39 feet, mostly operates in a dimly lit or pitch-black environment, intensifying the sensation of speed and unpredictability.

Since its launch in 2004, the roller coaster has been associated with numerous injuries, with 21 incidents reported. A spokesperson for Universal declined to comment on any pending claims, leaving uncertainty regarding any potential claims against the park.

The Orlando Police Department confirmed that no death investigation had been initiated, while the Orlando Fire Department had no information on the incident.

In a separate incident last year, a teenager sustained injuries on a theme park ride when he was thrown out of his seat during a 360-degree swing ride. Witnesses observed the 13-year-old falling and hitting the ground, resulting in a broken leg and two fingers.

The Pendulum swing ride, which was in motion and performing as expected, suddenly saw the teenager falling from his seat as it began to move downward. Despite clinging to the ride, he eventually fell from a height of around one-and-a-half to two meters, leading to multiple fractures. He was promptly taken to a hospital for treatment following the incident.
