Three additional individuals are facing charges in connection with the unrest during demonstrations in Southampton relating to the tragic death of 18-year-old Henry Nowak.

Hampshire Police announced on Friday that Connor Bishop, 24, residing on Oxford Street in Southampton, Reece Robinson, 21, from Soberton Road in Havant, and Noah Etherington, 18, from Rowbury Road in Havant, have been charged with violent disorder. They are scheduled to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning.

This development follows the court appearance of Matt Styler and Daniel Frost on Thursday. Frost, aged 44, admitted to charges of violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon, while Styler, aged 50, denied charges of assaulting a police officer.

The protests erupted in Southampton following the circulation of bodycam footage showing Mr. Nowak being restrained as he succumbed to his injuries.

Vickrum Digwa, 23, received a life sentence on Monday for the murder of the student in Southampton on December 3, 2025, using what was described in court as a “Sikh dagger”. Mr. Nowak was attacked while walking home alone after a night out with his football teammates.

After the incident, Digwa misled the authorities at the scene, falsely claiming he was the victim of a racially motivated assault, leading to Mr. Nowak’s arrest. During the handcuffing process, Mr. Nowak repeatedly stated he had been stabbed, to which an officer responded, dismissing his claim.

The case triggered widespread condemnation of the police’s handling of the victim and sparked discussions on religious exemptions for carrying bladed weapons. Hundreds gathered outside Southampton Central Police Station on Tuesday evening, displaying ‘Unite the Kingdom’ flags and listening to speeches by far-right figure Tommy Robinson, also known as Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, and others.
