The incident occurred on Sunday evening when a car collided with a male cyclist on Paddock Lane in Partington around 6pm. Despite the efforts of emergency services, the cyclist, identified as 56-year-old Michael Mullins, succumbed to his injuries.
Following the tragic event, the school announced its closure for the day, with deputy headteacher Liz Baxter informing parents of the heartbreaking news.
