Singer-songwriter Lola Young has called off her upcoming performances following a collapse during a show in New York. The 24-year-old artist, known for her song “Messy,” took to Instagram to announce her hiatus, expressing regret for disappointing her fans and assuring them of full refunds for purchased tickets. Young mentioned she needed time for self-improvement and hoped for continued support upon her return.
At the All Things Go music festival in Forest Hills Stadium, Lola collapsed while singing her popular track “Conceited,” prompting immediate medical attention. Before the incident, she shared with the audience her recent challenges, emphasizing the struggles of life that sometimes hinder progress.
American rapper Doechii, also known as Jaylah Hickman, took the stage after Lola and rallied the crowd to show their love and support for her. Acknowledging Lola’s talent and health concerns, Doechii encouraged everyone to wish her well.
This incident followed Lola’s prior cancellation of a concert due to mental health issues, as confirmed by her manager, Nick Shymansky. Shymansky highlighted Lola’s openness about mental health and the occasional need for protective measures to ensure her well-being.
Lola had recently launched her third album, “I’m Only F****ing Myself,” and had upcoming performances scheduled across England and Scotland in October.
