Serena Williams has withdrawn from the women’s doubles event at Wimbledon following a knee injury sustained during her singles match against Maya Joint. This injury has prevented her from partnering with her sister Venus in the doubles competition. The sisters will be replaced by a lucky loser, while Venus also exited the mixed doubles with Kevin Krawietz.

In a post on Instagram, Serena expressed her disappointment at having to pull out of the doubles event due to her knee not being ready for competition despite her efforts to prepare. She thanked the tournament director and fans for their support during her comeback.

Serena had previously mentioned her hope of playing doubles with Venus, but the knee issue persisted, leading to her withdrawal from the event. Her agent confirmed that Serena is focused on recovering and preparing for her upcoming matches.

Despite the setback, Serena remains optimistic and grateful for the opportunity to compete at Wimbledon, emphasizing the importance of pursuing one’s passions at any age. She also commended her opponent Maya for a well-played match and expressed gratitude to her supporters.

Efforts are underway to ensure Serena’s readiness for future matches, with the tennis star determined to overcome her injury and continue competing.
