A Ryanair flight destined for Spain had to return to the UK due to a mid-air emergency. The aircraft, Flight FR7842, took off from Glasgow Prestwick Airport in the morning and was en route to Murcia when it encountered a passenger medical issue at 35,000 feet altitude.

Following the emergency, the crew signaled a general emergency with a Squawk 7700 code, prompting the plane to divert over the English Channel towards Stansted Airport. The flight landed safely at 9:10 am, where the affected passenger received medical attention.

Originally scheduled to arrive in Spain around 11:50 am, the Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 aircraft was observed making a swift turn back over the English Channel. A Ryanair representative confirmed that the diversion to London Stansted was necessary as a passenger fell ill during the flight. Medical assistance was arranged upon landing for the passenger’s disembarkation and treatment.
