The King was accompanied by a new addition to the royal family as he and other members of the Firm took part in a festive outing. Charles, aged 77, led the group as they attended a Sunday morning church service in Sandringham today, continuing their stay in Norfolk for the holiday season. Walking alongside the monarch were his youngest brother, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, as well as Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, who sported a beige coat paired with a dark brown hat and boots.
Also present at the service were Princess Anne and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, and the King’s cousin, Earl Snowdon, along with his children Lady Margarita and Charles Armstrong-Jones. Making a surprise appearance was Peter Phillips, the son of Princess Anne, accompanied by his fiancée Harriet Sperling, dressed in a festive checked outfit.
Peter had chosen to spend Christmas with Harriet Sperling and her family, opting out of joining his royal relatives for the festivities this year. The couple decided to celebrate the holiday quietly together, away from the public eye. Peter, the King’s oldest nephew, had announced his engagement to Harriet last August after a year of dating, making her the newest member of the Royal Family upon their marriage.
The King, along with the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, attended the Sunday morning church service at Sandringham. The royal family members, including Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling, were seen at the event. Well-wishers had the opportunity to exchange words with the King, who had recently broadcast his Christmas message. The short walk from Sandringham House to St. Mary Magdalene Church was captured in photos by enthusiastic royal fans. Sophie’s attire included a beige coat, a light brown hat, and boots, adding elegance to the occasion. Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence were also part of the royal entourage, with Prince Edward flashing a smile as they were greeted by well-wishers. Earl of Snowdon, David Armstrong-Jones, was present with his children Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones and Viscount Linley.
