The documentation reveals that Moroun, based in Michigan, was accompanied by Kevin Kalczynski, a senior legal counsel with the family’s enterprises, and Brennan Lee, a senior financial executive and Moroun’s son-in-law. On the Canadian side, Housing Infrastructure and Communities Canada deputy minister Paul Halucha, assistant deputy minister Marco Presutti, and Jesse Tracey, a senior federal government attorney, were present.
Moroun had sought the meeting with Canadian officials, but certain sections of the agenda and the government’s narrative of the meeting were redacted. The purpose of Moroun’s request and the details of the discussion were not disclosed by the Ambassador Bridge when contacted by CBC News.
