German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife, Elke Budenbender, were the esteemed guests receiving royal hospitality in St George’s Hall. Before the banquet, William and Kate shared a glimpse of their attire on social media.
Expressing their anticipation, the Prince and Princess of Wales posted on Instagram, “Looking forward to a special banquet tonight in Windsor.” In a festive snapshot by a Christmas tree, Kate and William exuded regal sophistication.
This marked Kate’s third state banquet attendance this year. Previously, she graced the French state banquet in July and the event honoring US president Donald Trump in September, wearing exquisite ensembles.
Welcoming the German president and his wife on their historic state visit, the Prince and Princess of Wales initiated the royal proceedings. The couple greeted the guests at Heathrow Airport, followed by a ceremonial welcome at Windsor Castle, attended by the royal family.
