The Prince and Princess of Wales are collaborating to guide Prince George, who is celebrating his 13th birthday today, with a focus on instilling “a blend of tradition and family principles” in his upbringing, according to royal insiders.

As Prince George enters his teenage years, he is moving closer to his future role as the king, under the guidance of his parents, who aim to provide him with a balanced upbringing that includes an understanding of his future constitutional duties while also allowing him to experience a normal and grounded childhood.

Before Prince George was born on July 22, 2013, the Prince and Princess of Wales were already working together to prepare their eldest child for his future responsibilities as a monarch, emphasizing the importance of his role within the family.

Ingrid Seward, the chief editor of Majesty Magazine and a renowned royal author, highlighted that William and Catherine’s parenting approach focuses not only on educating their children about their royal duties but also on nurturing values that are essential for a happy family life.

Prince William’s upbringing was notably different from that of previous heirs, influenced by the challenges of royal life and the tragic loss of his mother, Princess Diana, during his adolescence. In contrast, the Princess’s upbringing in a close-knit family environment has shaped her approach to parenting Prince George and his siblings.

William and Kate draw upon their individual backgrounds to create a harmonious blend of royal tradition and family values in raising their children. Prince George has already started to participate in public engagements, gradually being introduced to his future responsibilities while also enjoying a normal childhood with his family.

As George prepares to attend Eton College this autumn, following in his father’s footsteps, the decision was a joint one involving George, William, and Kate, considering various factors, including the historical significance and the proximity of the school to their family home in Windsor.

George’s upbringing reflects a careful balance between appreciating his royal heritage and respecting his family life. His education, public appearances, and family interactions are all part of his preparation for his future role as a member of the royal family.

As George navigates his teenage years and his royal destiny, his parents are committed to ensuring that his public duties do not overshadow his family life, emphasizing qualities such as service, humility, empathy, and a strong sense of family values that will be crucial for his future role as a monarch.
