A man described as “very popular” was discovered deceased at a Bronze Age stone circle in the Peak District during a summer solstice gathering. The individual has been identified as Isaac Clare-Watts, a skilled joiner from Arnold, Nottinghamshire. His body was found at the Nine Ladies Stone Circle in Stanton Lees, Derbyshire, on Monday, June 22, prompting a response from emergency services just before 1.40pm.
Following the incident, a 41-year-old man was apprehended on suspicion of murder and is currently under police custody. Clare-Watts, who had been employed by Nottingham-based construction firm Frank Goulding Ltd, was remembered by the company as a valued team member. He had embarked on a journey to explore the world, including pursuing his passion for Muay Thai in Thailand.
