Police are conducting an investigation after receiving reports of a man in his 30s being sexually assaulted on Christmas Eve. Sussex Police is seeking information regarding the incident near Brook Street, close to Pells Pool in Lewes, from 10pm on Christmas Eve to 3am on Christmas Day.
Pells Pool is an open-air swimming facility where the victim is receiving support from specialized officers and caregivers. Detective Inspector Gavin Patch assured the public of the dedicated efforts of the investigative team to pursue all leads.
There will be a visible police presence in the areas surrounding Pells Pool and Brook Street, as well as in other parts of Lewes like Eastgate Street and Lansdown Place. Authorities are urging residents and visitors who were in Lewes on Christmas Eve to come forward with any relevant information or footage to aid the investigation.
