A man on a Ryanair flight from Thessaloniki to Memmingen in Germany found himself in a terrifying situation when a broken plane window led to him being partially sucked out during the flight. The incident occurred after the plane experienced engine trouble and had to return to Greece due to debris hitting the window.

The flight took off from Greece in the early morning and encountered engine issues over North Macedonia, prompting the pilot to head back to Thessaloniki. As the plane descended, a section of the damaged engine broke off, striking the cabin window and causing the passenger, 61-year-old Ljubiša Karović from Serbia, to be partially pulled out due to the pressure.

Fortunately, his wife, Svetlana Grković, managed to hold onto his legs while other passengers rushed to assist in pulling him back into the cabin. Witnesses described the captain shouting “emergency” as the window shattered, with oxygen masks deployed, and Mr. Karović’s head and shoulders protruding from the plane at an altitude of around 20,000 feet.

The injured passenger suffered a neck wound and bruising but remained conscious as he was taken to a hospital in Thessaloniki for treatment. Ryanair confirmed the incident and stated that one passenger received medical aid upon landing, and a replacement aircraft was arranged to continue the journey to Memmingen to minimize delays.
