Emergency responders hurried to a high-end hotel today after receiving reports of a paraglider accident. Earlier online videos depicted a person using a powered paraglider crashing into a structure at the Lough Erne Resort in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland. The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service was summoned to the scene to rescue the paraglider from the hotel’s rooftop.
According to a social media post by Lough Erne, access to the hotel grounds is currently restricted to hotel guests and individuals with restaurant reservations until the emergency services clear the area. The statement mentioned that the resort is operating normally, except for the vicinity of the incident, and bookings remain unaffected.
An eyewitness informed Belfast Live that the paraglider was attempting to land on a helipad but ended up colliding with the hotel roof. Emergency services have been working for more than two hours to rescue the injured man, who is reported to be in critical condition.
