Dale Cregan, the murderer of police officers and a father and son, was recently moved from prison to a hospital under heavy security measures during the night. The transfer took place at Aintree University Hospital in Merseyside. Cregan is serving a life sentence for the killings of David Short, Mark Short, Nicola Hughes, and Fiona Bone in a violent gun and grenade attack in 2012.

Merseyside Police confirmed their presence at the hospital to provide support while Cregan received medical care on December 1st. The police have since left the premises, and the Ministry of Justice declined to comment on the situation.

This hospital visit is not Cregan’s first under armed guard. Previously, he was admitted to Manchester Eye Hospital due to an issue with his remaining eye. The reason for his recent appointment at Aintree Hospital remains unclear, as Cregan had previously claimed to have lost his left eye during an altercation in Thailand.

In a shocking revelation by the Manchester Evening News in 2013, it was reported that a criminal gang had placed a £20,000 bounty on Cregan’s remaining eye. The rival gang leader allegedly sought revenge for the murders committed by Cregan and wanted his good eye destroyed while in prison.

Cregan’s heinous crimes involved luring police officers to a house under false pretenses and brutally gunning down PCs Nicola Hughes and Fiona Bone as they approached. The officers narrowly survived due to their protective gear, but sustained severe injuries. Cregan fired multiple shots from a Glock handgun, causing chaos and terror in the community.

The violent encounter resulted in PC Hughes being paralyzed by a shot to her back, while PC Bone courageously fought back but tragically succumbed to her wounds. The nation was left in shock by the brutality of Cregan’s actions on that fateful morning in September 2012.
