Three lanes on the M62 were closed earlier today due to a crash involving multiple vehicles. The incident occurred between Junction 11 at Birchwood and Junction 12, where it connects with the M60 at Eccles Interchange, causing significant delays of up to 90 minutes for motorists. National Highways has confirmed that all lanes have now reopened.
While further details about the crash have not been disclosed yet, traffic site Inrix has reported that the incident has been cleared, and normal traffic conditions are expected to resume between 8.30pm and 8.45pm tonight, as stated by National Highways. Live footage from a motorway camera indicates that traffic is now flowing more smoothly.
Despite one lane being reopened, drivers were advised to anticipate delays. National Highways has also arranged for the recovery of all vehicles involved in the collision, with traffic officers present at the scene to assist with traffic management.
