A 23-year-old mother, Andrea Shaw, has been accused of murdering her 18-month-old twins over a year after their lifeless bodies were discovered. The tragic incident occurred in Payette, Idaho, where the twin boy and girl were found deceased in the same bed on May 1, 2025, prompting a thorough investigation by the Payette Police.
Following the twins’ demise, Shaw made an appearance on a podcast by Children’s Health Defense, an anti-vaccine group, with her husband. During the podcast, she suggested that the twins fell ill after receiving three vaccinations, expressing regret for previously supporting vaccines and stating she now wished she had been against them.
Shaw, who recently gave birth to another child on June 25, was apprehended in Boise, Idaho, without any resistance. Although it remains unconfirmed whether she has entered a plea, her lawyer, Joe Filicetti, believes that the twins’ deaths were linked to vaccines, echoing Shaw’s claims on the podcast.
At the time of the tragic incident, law enforcement treated the case as a homicide investigation, highlighting the rarity of twin infants being found deceased simultaneously. Authorities expressed hope that the autopsies would shed light on the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
In a statement released on June 30, the Payette Police announced Shaw’s arrest as the outcome of an extensive investigation, thanking various partner agencies for their support. Shaw is currently detained at the Ada County Jail until her extradition to Payette County for arraignment on two counts of First Degree Murder.
