A massive search operation is underway in Germany following the abduction of a baby from his stroller during the night. Authorities have mobilized helicopters and drones in an effort to locate the missing three-month-old infant, but as of now, no significant leads have emerged. The child disappeared around 11:30 pm in Renningen, located in the southwest of Germany, after being briefly unattended in the stroller while his parents were nearby. Police suspect an unidentified individual removed the baby from the stroller and took him away.
The search effort involves an extensive operation utilizing drones, helicopters, firefighters, and 40 rescue dogs. Additionally, cadaver dogs, trained to detect decomposing bodies, are aiding in the search. With temperatures exceeding 30°C in Germany, authorities expressed concerns about the infant’s well-being in the heat if left unattended.
Police stated that the investigation is still at an early stage with no significant breakthroughs. Search teams are systematically combing the area from the scene outward in a circular manner, acknowledging the possibility that the child may have been taken elsewhere. The suspected abduction occurred near the mother’s residence in Renningen, Baden-Württemberg.
The mayor of Renningen, Melanie Hettmer, expressed deep concern and hope for the safe return of the child. Local residents attempting to organize search parties on social media were cautioned by the Ludwigsburg Police Headquarters to avoid interfering with the official investigation.
