Police have unveiled an image of a man they wish to interview following an alleged sexual assault on a train originating from the Peak District. The incident occurred on the route from Matlock to Nottingham on September 30.
According to the British Transport Police, the victim boarded the train at Duffield railway station in Derbyshire at approximately 4:45 pm. While traversing the carriage, a man within a trio purportedly sexually assaulted her and made an inappropriate remark before disembarking the train in Nottingham.
Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could aid in the ongoing investigation. A spokesperson for the police stated, “Are you familiar with this individual? Detectives are probing a sexual assault aboard a train from Matlock to Nottingham and have publicized this image for identification. On Tuesday, September 30, around 4:45 pm, a woman entered the train at Duffield railway station.”
The spokesperson further added, “Upon passing through the carriage, she encountered a group of three individuals. One of the men in the group sexually assaulted the young woman and uttered an inappropriate comment. The man alighted at Nottingham railway station.”
