A man has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a woman just hours before her 21st birthday. Michael Doherty, 38, pleaded guilty to killing Courtney Angus at Leeds Crown Court, receiving a minimum term of 33 years behind bars. Authorities found Ms. Angus at Doherty’s residence, where she had been assaulted and strangled.
