A man who traveled to Turkey for dental treatment is experiencing dental issues, with his teeth deteriorating and facing potential repair costs of up to £40,000. Danny Tomlinson, aged 47, was dissatisfied with the appearance of his teeth, describing them as misaligned, discolored, and stained.
Initially quoted £3,500 for a full set of crowns and a dental implant after having his natural teeth reshaped, Danny’s final bill increased to £3,900. Upon his return to the UK, he began encountering problems with his dental work.
Admitting to not conducting any prior research, Danny, a wall and floor tiler from Southend-on-Sea, Essex, impulsively booked the dental procedure without considering potential consequences. His visit to Turkey in December 2020 initially yielded satisfactory results, but he soon noticed issues with the stability of his lower teeth.
Over the following six years, Danny made multiple return trips to the Turkish clinic as complications persisted. Despite his concerns, the clinic provided little feedback during his visits. Recently, during his latest trip to Turkey a month ago, he was informed that several teeth were loose, necessitating further costly procedures.
Struggling with loose teeth, difficulty eating, and constant worry about potential tooth loss, Danny deeply regrets his decision to undergo extensive dental work. He now faces the prospect of needing implants, each estimated at £3,000. Despite the financial burden, he is determined to address his dental problems but has ruled out returning to Turkey for treatment.
Expressing concern and caution to others, Danny advises against seeking dental treatment in Turkey, emphasizing the importance of thorough research and consulting local dentists before making decisions about dental procedures.
