A man reportedly attempted to throw a baby in a stroller onto a busy road in Ireland. The incident took place near Fána Búrca in Galway city around 1:25 pm. According to the young mother, the man, who she did not recognize, tried to push the stroller with her baby into traffic while they were out for a walk. The man had just gotten off a bus and started walking towards them.
The woman claimed that as they passed each other, he refused to yield and threatened her with an umbrella, hurling insults at her. In a distressing turn of events, the mother alleged that as she tried to avoid him, the man attempted to push the stroller, with the baby inside, onto the road. Despite her efforts to prevent it, the stroller’s front wheels ended up on the road, dangerously close to oncoming vehicles.
The mother stated that no passing cars stopped to assist, and even a man walking a dog nearby ignored her cries for help. She described the man as a tall white individual in his 60s, wearing a black raincoat, flat cap, black sunglasses, and carrying a long black umbrella, along with a large, bushy grey and dark beard.
The mother contacted her own mother, who confronted the man near Tor Buí. An altercation ensued between them, during which the mother identified the man’s UK accent, possibly Scottish or Northern Irish. The family is urging any witnesses to come forward and have reported the incident to the authorities, requesting any dashcam footage from potential eyewitnesses.
Efforts to obtain a comment from An Garda Síochána by Mirror are ongoing.
