John McEnroe had to leave his BBC commentary role during the Arthur Fery vs. Grigor Dimitrov match at Wimbledon. Fery, the sole British player in the men’s singles second week, won the first set but Dimitrov rallied to take the next two.

During a break after the second set, McEnroe exited the commentary box, leaving Andrew Cotter and Tim Henman to take over. Cotter announced McEnroe’s departure, citing contractual obligations to cover Taylor Fritz, the only American left in the draw.

McEnroe expressed hope to return but emphasized his commitment to covering Fritz’s matches. Meanwhile, Linda Noskova defeated Madison Keys on Court 1, setting the stage for Fritz’s upcoming match against Alexander Bublik.

Fritz anticipated a tough challenge against Bublik or Frances Tiafoe, emphasizing both players’ skills on grass courts. Bublik had a tough match against Tiafoe but Fritz managed to clinch the first set tie-break in their encounter.

Looking ahead, Wimbledon 2026 tickets are now available for purchase, including VIP access through Seat Unique. Stay updated by selecting Daily Mirror as a ‘Preferred Source’ on Google News for timely news updates.
