Kuwait Airport faced an assault from an Iranian drone, resulting in numerous injuries and the closure of the site, leading to the suspension or redirection of flights.

This incident occurred following reports from Iranian state media indicating that missiles had been aimed at US Camp Arifjan and Ali al-Salem airbase near Kuwait City, with additional explosions reported in Bahrain after sirens were activated.

The US military confirmed that all missiles launched by Tehran failed to reach their intended targets. Specifically, two Iranian missiles intended for Kuwait fell short or disintegrated en route, while three missiles aimed at Bahrain were promptly intercepted by US and Bahraini air defense forces.

The attacks coincided with Marco Rubio’s statement alleging Iran’s willingness to engage in discussions despite recent escalations. In response, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs attributed the assaults on Bahrain and Kuwait to alleged violations of a ceasefire agreement by the US and Israel, holding them accountable for the repercussions.

An Iranian missile struck Kuwait’s international airport, causing multiple injuries and necessitating the diversion of flights to ensure safety. The airport had only recently reopened in February after previous tensions related to the Iran conflict.

Bahrain’s air defense systems intercepted three Iranian missiles and multiple drones, with the country’s military denouncing Iran’s actions as a violation of international humanitarian law.

The US Central Command reported its intervention in stopping a seventh ship attempting to breach its blockade of Iranian ports, emphasizing its efforts to maintain security in the region.

As tensions escalated, crude oil prices surged, and military actions intensified, highlighting the volatile situation in the Middle East.

In light of ongoing developments, the UN Security Council convened to address the escalating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, with global leaders expressing concerns and calling for restraint to prevent further hostilities.
