CENTCOM stated that they neutralized inbound threats and targeted Iranian military facilities responsible for the attacks, emphasizing readiness to protect American forces without seeking further escalation.
President Trump later commented on the confrontation via social media, describing the successful passage of the US warships through the strait despite Iranian aggression. He used a metaphor likening the destruction of Iranian attackers to a butterfly falling gracefully, criticizing Iran’s leadership as unpredictable and potentially dangerous.
