Singer and actress Selena Gomez is facing legal action as investors filed a lawsuit alleging fraud related to her failure to meet obligations in developing and promoting her mental health startup, Wondermind Global. The investors, who contributed approximately $1.2 million US to the project launched in 2021, claim that the startup was supposed to assist users in enhancing their mental well-being. Gomez, a prominent figure with over 500 million followers on social media, was expected to actively participate in the company’s growth as the head of marketing. However, according to the lawsuit filed in federal court in Delaware, Gomez and other company leaders allegedly did not fulfill their commitments, such as creating a mobile application as promised.
The lawsuit states that Gomez purportedly agreed to contractual obligations but failed to follow through, asserting that the enterprise lacked viability and did not meet basic responsibilities, including timely payments to employees and vendors. Gomez’s representatives have not yet responded to requests for comments regarding the allegations. The plaintiffs claim they were unaware of the company’s issues until a news report surfaced online in September 2025, seeking to recover their investments and legal expenses through legal recourse.
