Authorities are investigating the discovery of a deceased man at a city center hotel in the United Kingdom.
Emergency responders were summoned to the Malmaison Hotel situated on William Jessop Way in Liverpool around 2:55pm on Friday, January 16, following reports of the sudden death of a man.
According to the police, the man, believed to be in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. While inquiries are ongoing, there are currently no suspicions of foul play.
A hotel guest mentioned encountering difficulty accessing their room due to the incident, and a significant police presence, consisting of four vehicles, lingered at the location into Friday night.
A staff member at the Malmaison Hotel declined to provide comments due to the active police investigation, as per the Liverpool Echo.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police confirmed the situation, stating, “Emergency services are present in Liverpool city center following the unanticipated death of a man this afternoon on Friday, January 16. At approximately 2:55pm, officers responded to the Malmaison Hotel on William Jessop Way after receiving reports of a man in his 40s found deceased. Investigations are ongoing, and no suspicious circumstances have been identified initially.”
The Malmaison Hotel, boasting four stars, is positioned on the waterfront, conveniently close to landmarks such as the Royal Liver Building, Albert Dock, and Liverpool ONE shopping center.
This incident follows the discovery of a deceased man in his 60s within his Travelodge hotel room. The individual was found at the St Austell branch in Cornwall following concerns raised about his well-being. Emergency services were alerted by hotel staff on Monday afternoon.
The man’s relatives have been notified, and authorities do not suspect any foul play, with preparations for a coroner’s report underway by Devon and Cornwall Police.
