In an Instagram post shared on Thursday, Dimoldenberg expressed her fondness for the show, likening it to her personal romantic comedy and thanking her audience for joining her on this journey of creating captivating stories. She acknowledged that while she initially believed “Chicken Shop Date” would be a permanent part of her life, she now feels the time has come to embark on a new chapter.
Dimoldenberg launched the show a dozen years ago, originally focusing on interviewing musicians within Britain’s underground rap scene. Over time, she expanded her guest list to include celebrities such as Keke Palmer, Conan O’Brien, Paul McCartney, and Jack Harlow, amassing nearly 3.5 million subscribers on her YouTube channel.
“Chicken Shop Date” follows a straightforward format: Dimoldenberg shares a meal at a fried chicken establishment in London with a celebrity, engaging them in a mix of flirty, humorous, and occasionally awkward questions. The dynamic between the host and guests often resembles the playful banter of a first date rather than a traditional talk show interview.
Notable moments from the show include a flirtatious exchange with Andrew Garfield in 2024, where the actor acknowledged the playful nature of their interaction.
