A gunman who opened fire at an immigration center in Dallas, Texas, killing one person and injuring multiple others before taking his own life, has been identified as Joshua Jahn, 29. The incident occurred at the Dallas ICE facility, where three detainees were allegedly shot by Jahn. Law enforcement reported that four individuals were shot, resulting in one fatality.
The FBI disclosed that ammunition with anti-ICE sentiments was discovered near the shooter. Joseph Rothrock, the head of the Texas FBI field office, confirmed the presence of anti-ICE messages on the bullets found in the vicinity of the assailant. A witness recounted hearing approximately 20 gunshots while waiting in her car for her husband outside the ICE facility. Arianny Sierra, accompanied by her nine-year-old son, sought refuge under the car upon hearing the gunfire until police arrived and escorted them inside the building. Sierra, who fled her home country due to violence, expressed relief that her family was unharmed.
In response to the attack, Senator Ted Cruz condemned political violence during a press conference, emphasizing the need to halt such actions. The FBI is investigating the incident as a targeted act of violence.
