Following reports of a disturbance and a firearm being discharged in a residential area on Christmas Day, authorities have apprehended four individuals.
Law enforcement initially responded to a call regarding an assault on a young man at Bradwell Lea, Gamesley, located in Derbyshire, around 4:20 pm.
The injured individual, a teenager, was transported to a medical facility with severe head injuries and remains in critical condition. Another teenager, also in his late teens, presented himself at Glossop Police Station with stab wounds to his abdomen post the incident and was subsequently hospitalized in a stable state.
Derbyshire Police reported that CCTV footage indicates a firearm being discharged at the scene. Nevertheless, neither of the hospitalized individuals sustained gunshot wounds, and there are no indications of any firearm-related injuries.
Three men and a woman have been taken into custody in connection with the episode following a police operation at a residence in Hollins Close, Gamesley. In an official statement, the police mentioned, “It is currently believed that all individuals linked to the occurrence have been apprehended.”
The statement further highlighted, “Although the inquiry is still in its early stages, it is understood that the victims and suspects have a prior acquaintance, and there is no broader threat to public safety posed by those involved.”
Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, especially those in possession of CCTV, mobile phone, or dashcam recordings, to come forward.
